Thesis, French Music & BSG
I actually worked on my thesis today. And was productive. Like really, really productive. So, I'm shocked. I think it had to do with me listening to the nature music I've gotten from [info]stillxmyxheart, [info]blob and [info]windiain. Right now I've switched to french pop music and that isn't helping so much.

So, does anyone else have nice relaxing/zoning out music? Particularly 'nature sounds' like rain, ocean recordings and that kind of thing. Or anything that usually helps you work.

Though I still do love my french music. I need to move to France, yes I do. Today I found Emmanuel Moire's album which pleases me greatly as I am addicted to Le Roi Soleil. Now, if I could find music from the rest of the cast (and finish my thesis) I'd be content.

One thing has irked me about the Battlestar Galactica fandom following the revelations of the final four so far and that is I can't find any Tyrol and Boomer!Eight fanfiction. None. That really surprises me as I would have found that fascinating given how he treated her and the fact that Tyrol/Boomer is far more interesting than One/Boomer - EWWW.
But no, BSG fandom just gives us more Kara/Lee (ew) and Adama/Roslin (YAYAYAYAYAY).

Gold star for productivity!

Maybe instrumental would be good? I've got lots of post-rock if you're at all interested.

I am, I'm always interested in music ('specially the free and awesome kind). As long as it helps me do work. I was just surprised with what a change this made for me, and hey! anything that makes me keen on writing and editing is a wonderful thing.

Oh, and any interest in random Japanese music? Joji Hirota & The Taiko Drummers and Yo-Yo Ma specifically.

Yeah, Dune, band, bouncy ultra-happy dance-style music... :) Not the Film/TV series... (It confused me for a while...)

God is an Astronaut: hxxp://drabant.net/eclectro/GIAA.zip

I've also got most of Zero7, more GiaA and the three Ayashi no Ceres OSTs available here (am at work).

Lorraine covered the majority of what I was going to recommend, but I could also hook you up with any The Album Leaf, Boards of Canada and Jóhann Jóhannsson if you were interested. Particularly The Album Leaf is my "zone out" music. And their music is uber pretty. ♥

Yay, being productive is good. I should do that some day, too. ;) And if you ever go to France be sure to tell me. ;) Anyway, about music ... I have no idea if you'd like the kind of music I like, but you can always try. ;) No idea about music that would help me work, because I can't work while listening to music. As for the relaxing part ... I can relax extremely well with Tiamat, especially with their album Skeleton Skeletron. But I guess you have to like metal for that. Mhm, and I find jazz very relaxing, for example Jacques Loussier's Play Bach albums. And the calmer Apocalyptica songs are good for that, too. Although it's, well, music, not nature sounds or something like that. Dunno. I can send you a few things if you're interested; but again I don't know if you'd like it, or if it would be any helpful. ^^
